Within the framework of this project, we will focus on the development, design and implementation of network server to distribute quantum random numbers to all research groups and researchers at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT). By using the measurement of quadrature amplitude that results from the interaction between a coherent state and a vacuum state using a standard homodyne detector, we expect to obtain a QRNG compatible with high-speed applications.
In order to achieve the objectives, cite above, this project will be organized in four work-packages:
- WP #1: LABORATORIAL IMPLEMENTATION OF A HIGH SPEED QRNG BASED ON VACUUM STATES
- WP #2: DSP ALGORITHMS TO EXTRACT RANDOM BITS FROM THE QRNG AND VALIDATION USING STANDARD STATISTICAL RANDOMNESS TESTS
- WP #3: SECURITY ANALYSIS OF THE QRNG AND PROTOCOL DESIGN FOR DEVICE INDEPENDENT QRNGS
- WP #4: INTEGRATION OF THE QRNG IN A NETWORK SERVER
